The ritual
Each piece involves cutting, modeling, welding, aging, rust-proofing, coloring, and a matte surface.
- 01 Cut — Sheet iron is marked and cut to the silhouette — nothing is cast from a mold.
- 02 Model — Planes are bent and fitted until the stance reads as an animal, not a flat sign.
- 03 Weld — Seams are joined and ground so the form holds as one piece.
- 04 Age — An aging pass gives the metal the depth people mistake for years outdoors.
- 05 Protect — Anti-rust treatment so a patio or a garden can keep the piece.
- 06 Paint — Color is brushed by hand. Matte finish last. No two coats land the same.
